U11s so close to victory!!

This was an end to end battle from the first whistle to the last with the score never more than 1 goal apart. Our older girls worked especially hard to win the ball back in defence, keep it in Mellor's possession and keep the pressure on in attack. The first 3 goals came from Francine, Niamh and Katie - each one matched by Norbury. The goalkeepers were evenly matched too with Lola making 3 fantastic saves and the Norbury goalkeeper denying us an equal number of chances. We thought we had it in the final minutes as Niamh scored to make it 4-3, but once again Norbury retaliated, scoring in the closing seconds to make it a draw. A great performance though – and we almost did it!!
