Tough loss for the U14s vs Rochdale

A good run out for our younger players but a bitter pill to swallow

Today was a bit of an experiment aimed at game time, not score line. With a decision made to rest most of our senior players it allowed all of our younger players, and some that need to spend more time on the pitch, the chance to have prolonged periods on the pitch. The plan wasn't helped by the illness to our GK before face off and well done to the boys that took their place between the posts.

Always in touch, but never ahead, what was clear today was they these boys can all make a valuable contribution to the squad. Yes, we made some daft mistakes at times and no doubt lacked the balance that some of our older players bring but once they all believe a little more things will fall into place.

A bit more belief on the ball, a bit more aggression at times ( but not as much as Toby perhaps!) and every one of them can keep improving. So, its half term now and time to regroup - we'll come back stronger but everyone that played today is part of a squad - and a good one at that!

We maybe asked too much of some today but well done to Rochdale for battling away and earning their victory and congratulations to Poynton for their win at Brooklands. Its the sharp end of the season now - time to get selfish and focus on ourselves!

If today's players went home disappointed that'll do for now - enjoy Half Term!
