U15s lose out to Oxton

The words ‘cold and windy’, whilst factually correct, don’t really capture the reality of the perishing weather conditions at Oxton this morning. The same can be said of the full time score, which doesn’t really do justice to how evenly the teams were matched throughout the game. From the first draw it was an end to end affair - the difference being that Oxton’s shots were on target whilst Mellor struggled to convert theirs finishing the first half 7-2 down (goals from Ruby and Eve). It was more of the same in the second half, but Mellor suddenly found their mojo scoring 7 goals (Ruby 3, Martha 3, Katie 1) to Oxton’s 6. A fabulous second half come back, but not quite enough for the win. Well done to Ruby and Eve, joint Players of the Match and a special mention to Katie for being awesome in centre!
