Yet another wet morning of lacrosse, where Mellor U15 made the trip across to Timperley. After a pitch inspection, disappointingly it was decided the game had to be played on a their Astro. Mellor were slow of the mark and found themselves in the first quarter quickly going down by 4 goals in rapid succession from the nippy Timperley attack. Alice made a great interception to then assist in Ruby’s first goal for Mellor. In the second quarter Mellor stepped up their play drawing 3-3. At half time the scores were 7-4 overall with still all to play. However, Timperley didn’t let their guard down and their defence proved impenetrable in the third quarter pulling their lead to 11-4. With the rain coming down Mellor girls gave a final push with 12 brilliant saves from Liv. Unfortunately our girls lost this game 13-6 to a stronger Timperley team. Mellor’s goals came from Ruby with assists from Beany and Alice W. Onwards and upwards this game has given us lots to learn.
