The draw for the last 32 of the FAW Amateur Trophy has been confirmed, and Menai Bridge Tigers will welcome Caersws to Treborth on Saturday 11th September.

Caersws play in the same league as our previous opponents Machynlleth, and beat them 3-2 in the opening league match of the Ardal Leagues North East season.

Founded in 1887 as Caersws Amateurs, they have a good pedigree in this competition, defeating Buckley Wanderers 4-2 to lift the trophy in 1960/61, and have also reached the final on another three occasions. The club dropped their amateur status in 1974 and have since been known as Caersws FC.

The Powys side have a rich history, having been founder members of the Cymru Alliance and won the title in 1992, before becoming founder members of the League of Wales. The Bluebirds won the League Cup in 2000/01, 2001/02 and 2006/07, and can boast European experience after playing in the Intertoto Cup.

There are four other North Wales Coast (West) Premier sides remaining in the competition, and two of those face each other as Bodedern Athletic host Penrhyndeudraeth. Mynydd Llandegai face a long trip to Berriew, while our neighbours Bangor 1876 travel to Llannefydd.
