Both Menai Bridge Tigers and Bethesda Athletic go into this game confident off the back of high-scoring wins. Tigers triumphed 7-2 over Penrhyndeudraeth last weekend, while Bethesda's last outing saw them put 7 goals past Amlwch Town without reply.
Bethesda are in fine form and currently top the North Wales Coast (West) Premier Division table with 11 wins from 14 matches. Mark Hughes's side were promoted in the summer as Division One champions, and also lifted the equivalent of this competition, the West Division One Cup.
Aaron Rowlands's Tigers side have seen their progress hampered by postponements and a league hiatus due to the FIFA World Cup. A defeats away at Nefyn United was a minor setback, however the victory over Penrhyndeudraeth will have been a huge boost in confidence. Menai Bridge now sit in fifth place, with 15 matches left as they look to climb the table.
This is Bethesda's second visit to Treborth this season, having snatched three points on the opening round of league fixtures in August. An early goal from Kyle Hartleb was instantly cancelled out by Tigers captain Sion Hogan. Menai Bridge then took a two goal lead before half-time, courtesy of Callum Hughes and Harry Jones. Osian Hughes pulled one back shortly after the break, and added another on 87 minutes to level the scores. An injury time penalty was converted by Scott Hughes to give Athletic the victory.
Bethesda striker Dean Redmond will be hoping to make an impact against his former side, having missed the August match through injury. Menai Bridge's new faces Alex Cooper, Ryan Evans, and Jamie Ryan Jones are in contention after all making their debuts last weekend.
Refreshments will be available in the pavilion, and we welcome all spectators to join us at The Bulkeley Arms post-match, where our fortnightly Three Letter Lotto will be drawn.
