Menai Bridge Tigers play their first home match of 2022 this evening as we welcome CPD Aberffraw to Treborth.

A bumper crowd is expected as we pay tribute to Sean Brett with a minute's applause before kick-off. Entry is £5 with all proceeds being donated to Sean's family.

For those unable to attend, donations can be made via this link.

Aberffraw are fitting opponents for this occasion, as Berffro were Tigers' opponents in the first two cup triumphs under Sean's management; the Elias Cup and Megan Cup in 2012/13.

Tigers manager Aaron Rowlands said:

"If I could pick any team to play on Friday night, it would probably be Aberffraw.

We won our first trophy against them and had some great battles over the years.

Sean got on really well with Gerallt [Aberffraw manager] and both clubs have a friendly rivalry."

Tigers go into the game in great form, unbeaten in ten North Wales Coast (West) Premier league matches with eight victories during that spell, and currently sit in sixth place.

Aberffraw are in tenth place, with two wins and three defeats in their last five league matches, although two of those defeats were away to the league's top two sides.

The Cae Cynlas side have struggled for consistency this season, although they are always capable of taking big results.

They showed this in the reverse fixture six months ago, as Nathan Moore notched four goals in a 5-3 victory for the home side.

Tigers will be aiming to avenge this defeat as they look to keep pace with the top five.

Refreshments will be available at the match, with all proceeds being added to the donations.

There will be food provided at The Bulkeley Arms post-match, where we invite you to join us in raising a glass to Sean.

Our fortnightly Three Letter Lotto will be drawn at the pub, with all profits from the draw being donated to Sean's family.
