Menai Bridge Tigers will be looking to put the JD Welsh Cup disappointment behind them this evening as they return to North Wales Coast (West) Premier league action. Llanberis are the visitors to Treborth for Tigers' first competitive home match as permanent tenants at Prifysgol Bangor University's fantastic facility.
Y Darans will be glad to see some fresh faces, having hosted local rivals Llanrug United on two consecutive weekends, first in the league then again in the JD Welsh Cup. Carwyn Jones's team enjoyed mixed fortunes in these two matches; having lost the league fixture 3-2 to a late winner, they bounced back in the cup tie with a 4-2 victory. Llanberis appear to be sharing the goals around, with the six goals scored by the Ffordd Padarn coming from six different scorers.
Menai Bridge on the other hand, have scored seven goals in two outings with the goals coming from Callum Davidson (3), Dean Redmond (3) and Sion Hogan. Tigers manager Aaron Rowlands will be delighted to see some healthy competition between his strike partnership of Davidson and Redmond, and will be hoping that both forwards add to their tallies this evening.
Winger Darren Gowans looks set to return to the side having been unavailable for the opening matches. Several Tigers players have passed late fitness tests to make themselves available, including defender Matty Hughes who was withdrawn at half-time on the weekend due to a muscle strain.
Kick-off is at 7pm at Treborth (LL57 2RQ) on Pitch One (grass pitch). Admission is £2 for adults, under 16s go free. All spectators will be required to follow FAW covid guidelines at all times; including providing contact details for track & trace and observing social distancing.
