We welcome Radstock Town on Saturday afternoon at BBS park in a 3pm kick off.
Saturday's visitors make the trip up the a39 to face Mendip Broadwalk and have won one in their last five games. Radstock were on a four game losing streak including a heavy defeat at the hands of title contenders Calne Town before upsetting the odds somewhat with an impressive though surprising 1-0 win away at Hallen.
Mendip come in to this game having endured a lack of recent league action owing to some horrendous weather that has battered the pitch in Filwood. The home side did get some valuable game time in a difficult somerset premier cup quarter final tie away at Frome Town which eventually ended in a 3-0 defeat.
After the match on Wednesday joint manager Richard O'connor added:
"The lads can hold hold their heads high after this game. At points it looked like Frome could have dominated us but the lads kept coming back and kept the scoreline respectable against a southern league premier side. We had moments where if we had scored then it could have been even more interesting. No game for a month heading into this fixture really didnt help the cause. They didnt have to work hard for their first two goals which came in quick succession and was a little frustrating each of which followed chances to score ourselves”.
So, this could be a tricky game for Mendip on Saturday who will be looking to get 3 points on the board as we look to start a good run back in league action.
Following Saturdays game the club will be holding a race night (adult only) with the first race at 6:30pm
We then host Avonmouth on Tuesday.
Enjoy the match
