Kent defeat leaves Meridian hanging on.

two footed challenge REF!!!
With both of the only two subs injured in the warm up it was not looking good for MVP in another bottom of the table clash with struggling Kent Football Utd.
Kent looked the better side and sprung a poor defensive line to break away a score the opening goal. A second followed in similiar fashion but this one should have been offside missed by the official even though the winger receiving the ball was right in front of him!!
Two minutes into the second half meridian were back in it West scoring at the second attempt after some great work by Jack mahon.
However the revival was dealt a horror blow when Meridian's keeper lost possession of the ball allowing kent to restore their two goal advantage. The lack of subs on a warm spring day was detrimental to MVP's hopes as Kent added a fourth . West scored again with a low drive into the corner to make it 4-2. But Meridian never looked like getting anything from the game and Bobby Holley received a late red card for a tired challenge. Although disappointing that the ref didn't punish a two footed tackle from a Kent Player!
FT 2-4
