Merseyside Police Rugby Union Football Club Recruitment
MPRUFC want new and experienced players

Merseyside Police RUFC are one of the last Metropolitan Police rugby teams, with a long history,
recently celebrating our sixty year anniversary.

For the information of any players who are interested; we are currently using the Covid-19 break to generate interest from new players, of all abilities. We play in North West 5, with games every Saturday starting this September 04th.

We are in the process of rebranding the team, generate interest of new players and develop a
resilient squad. With a large intake of new student officers, and others who may not have been aware, we are looking for players. We have a brand new excellent club shop (Please see link below).Club Shop -
What do you need to know;

we are based at RIVERSDALE, Merseyside Police Sports and Social Association (The Pavilion, Riversdale Road, Liverpool, L19 3QN).

We have exciting targets and plans for a new Club house that will include excellent training facilities.

Training is EVERY week, on Saturdays between 1000-1200 hours at Riversdale.
These sessions are ideal for building back into the new season, and give new players the opportunity to meet with and play alongside, current players and committee members. It will also provide basic organisational play and structured rugby, developing new players ready for the upcoming league. This allows greater fitness and structure for when we start our new league.

Why Merseyside Police Rugby:

As part of the policing family, whether staff, operational or any other role, we understand the challenges of work, and the changing demand. This allows us to prepare and support players that may not be supported by other clubs that might not quite understand the requirement to change shift times or work your rest days. As a result, this would not impact your
likelihood to play, and players are always welcome and will always get a game.

Further to the last, Playing for Merseyside Police allows you to network and represent your force, meet and play with players from all roles and departments across the force, from all different ranks and levels of service.

To play you must sign up and be a member of Merseyside Police Sports and Social Association
(MPSSA) this allows you to utilise the Clubhouse at Riversdale, and covers your insurance (The application form is attached).

By all means; please just come down and get involved with the training sessions on a Saturday
morning, in preparation for the new season.

We hope to see any new players or hear from you in due course. Any questions please don’t hesitate to call or email our club captain:
