Both sides are new to the Kent County League Division 1 West this season following our relegation and Belvedere’s promotion from Division 2 West. However both sides are no strangers to the division and both know how tough this division can be and i’m sure neither side will take any game lightly this year.
Our clubs are familiar with each other as our Reserves played against them last season in Division 2 West. Belvedere beat our reserves early in the season 6-1 before we secured a 2-1 victory over them in February in the return fixture.
You have to go back to the 2011/12 season for the last time these two sides met in what was then a county wide Division 1. It was Managers Roy Davies’s first season in charge and on both occasions we came away with 3 points in what was our promotion winning season into the Kent County Premier and where we won the Inter Regional Challenge Cup.
We know Saturday will be another tough test, Danny Hill has an excellent record in the Kent County League. Another excellent training session last night from the squad and we are looking forward to the challenge Belvedere will present but we are prepared. Lets hope for a repeat of 2011/12 on Saturday in terms of the results and the overall season.
