Lottery Information - How to join and how it works:

The Metropolitan Police Football Club (MPFC) Lottery was established in June 1964 to provide non-public funds for sport within the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS).

It is registered with the Gambling Commission and is administered within the MPS by the Metropolitan Police Athletic Association (MPAA).

The proceeds of the Lottery provide funding for the general day to day running of MPFC and the Sporting Sections of the MPAA, helping to keep them going for past, present and future generations of the MPS.

For a list of all the MPAA sports available within the MPS, please email mpaa@met.police.uk or telephone 0207 161 3044.

Prizes:

A £20,000 Super Jackpot is payable on the 1st Saturday in January and July.

A £10,000 Jackpot is payable on the 1st Saturday in the 10 remaining months.

On the remaining Saturdays throughout the year, prizes are payable of £5000, £3000, £1000, £500, £300 and £200, making a total of £10K per week still payable on those weeks.

How it works:

It is a series of weekly lotteries on each Saturday throughout the year.

Lottery Shares cost £1.00 each per week with a maximum of 9 shares per person.

Eligibility to take part is restricted to past and present members of the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) who are over 18 years of age and it currently has over 13,000 subscribers.

Lottery subscribers are issued with three different numbers (making 1 Lottery Share), which are allocated by a Random Number Generator System.

The Random Number Generator System selects the winning Lottery shares (like the National Lottery) for every Saturday throughout the year, with witnesses present.

The Random Number Generator System has been independently tested.

Prize winners are notified by email and post.

The Lottery results are published weekly on the internal MPAA Intranet Site for subscribers within the MPS and on this website for former members of the MPS.

Please note that you will be contacted automatically by the MPAA should you win a prize, so there is no need to regularly check the weekly results unless you wish to do so.

If you are a winner and do not wish your details to be displayed, please let the MPAA know at mpaa@met.police.uk or on telephone number 0207 161 3044.

How the Lottery funds are used:

The aim of the Lottery is:

- To provide the weekly cash prizes as shown above;

- To provide funds for sport within the MPS via the MPAA and its Sporting Sections; and

- As the registered owner of the Lottery, to provide funds for the general day to day running of the Metropolitan Police Football Club (MPFC).

For further information, please contact the MPAA at mpaa@met.police.uk or on telephone number 0207 161 3044.

Lottery Information / Winners Information:

Due to the number of subscribers to the Lottery both within the MPS and externally, the MPAA are unable to contact subscribers individually to update them on Lottery information, such as the weekly results (winners).

This information will be displayed within the MPS on the internal MPAA Intranet Site for serving subscribers and on this website for former members of the MPS.

It is therefore the responsibility of all subscribers to check these websites for Lottery information.

For the winners details on this site, please see the relevant Lottery Winners' pages.

This email will be destroyed after 7 years in accordance with the current financial regulations.

Should you win a prize in the Lottery, your full name, pay/warrant number and MPS work location will be displayed on the internal MPAA Intranet Site and only your first initial and surname will be displayed on this website.
