Injuries allow the Youth a chance to step up

I’ve been pleased with how we are shaping up. The two wins have set us on a decent path but these results are never a measure for me. You can only look at it as a steady progression regardless of the result.
On the down side we are suffering a bit of an injury crisis. OIlie Robinson, Ollie Knight, Louis Birch, Bilal Sayoud, Jordy Ndozid, Bayley Mummery and Ben Hughes are all injured. We can try and control the things that are controllable, such as soft tissue problems.
The big ones, such as Bayley you can’t do anything about. We’ve had serious knee injuries in the past. You can’t do much to avoid them.
If someone twists something in the middle of a game, lands funny, or someone lands on them, there’s very little you can do, It’s not necessarily square pegs in round holes for us at the moment, we need to have adjustable pieces for our jigsaw and with a small squad some versatility.
It's our situation, not ideal but Steve and Shannon are working hard to rectify the problem, it’s only a crisis if we let it impact on what we are doing, as last season we simply look at who is next in line.
As a consequence tomorrow’s squad at Chipstead will have a younger feel to it but still be a very talented group. They’ll be some 16 and 17 year olds playing which personally I’m excited about.
