The Academy’s short history is full of youngsters who rose through the ranks to play in the First Team or move onto professional clubs.
It’s a philosophy which the current Metropolitan Police FC Academy is proud of, with 15 players having made their 1st team senior debuts since the formation of the academy 8 years ago and 6 players signing or trialling with professional clubs.
In June 2016, the Club announced that the Academy would start a 16 - 19 full-time football program supporting players wanting careers in football. The Metropolitan Police Football Academy Programme provides a full-time academic study, with first-class training and development in partnership with SCL, one of the UK's Leading independent providers of education through sport. Situated just outside of London in Esher, Surrey, Imber Court has two direct train links in to London Waterloo as well as Weybridge & Guildford. Our venue provides outdoor and indoor facilities for all its students to progress further in their education and footballing careers.
Ian Pendry was appointed as the Club’s Academy Director in July 2016 following successful spells as a player at the club and most recently, the most successful reserve team manager the club has ever had. Further high profile appointments had been made, including Ex-Professional Jon Nurse, who joined the academy fresh from winning the Conference national as Barnet FC coach and Donovan Chislett who became Under-18’s Manager in 2016 and subsequently now is Head of Academy Coaching.
Donovan and his team’s extensive scouting programme means the Academy boasts a blend of local boys and talented players across London, Surrey and Hampshire with a number of the boys representing their respective counties across our age groups.
The Academy is focused on player development within a professional environment. This is complimented by a supportive and mentoring culture at the Metropolitan Police FC
