Nurse gives police a lift, pictured is Ronayne Marsh - Brown whose pinpoint cross led to the only goal...

Jon Nurse gave the Met Police FC the tonic they so required after recent performances left them down the wrong end of the table. The side showed a couple of changes to the side, Tauren Roberts a recent signing from Merstham came straight in on the left of a five man midfield whilst Ronayne Marsh-Brown came in for the injured Adam Cash at left back.

From the start, the Met dominated proceedings. The five man defence of Farnborough were being stretched by intelligent cross field balls out to both Case and especially Roberts who terrorised the Farnborough back line with his speed and trickery.
As early as the 7th minute, the Met should have scored when Nurse was through one v one but after taking one touch too many it allowed Farnboroughs captain Fearn to block the shot. In the 13th minute, a shot from Roberts hit the post before cannoning onto the head of stranded keeper Sylvestre-Bartons head but the ball went agonising wide of the post. It seemed like the Met's luck was no different to other recent games when shot after shot went either over the bar or was saved by Farnboroughs custodian.

It didnt take too long to score the opener when in the 16th minute a ball found Marsh-Brown on the left who delivered a pin point ball onto the head of Jon Nurse to head home confidently. Further chances came and went for the Met who were in total control and everyone including a vociforous home support thought it only a matter of time before the second goal came to put the game out of reach. It never did come and Farnborough slowly forced their way into proceedings and had a couple of chances before the break to equalise.

The second half was the opposite to the first, Farnborough forcing the met onto the back foot but resilient defending ensured that the points came back with the Met.
Encouraging signs from the Met who for thirty five first half minutes looked like the side that challenged for promotion last season. Onto Bognor for the next league fixture so soon after playing them only two weeks ago ?????
