Luck eventually turns for Blues

A sunny October afternoon saw Weston super mare face a Met side who haven't won in seven.

The visitors proved to be comfortable after keeping possession and moving the ball, leaving the blues chasing.

Weston created the first real opportunity after Howe had his header chested off the line and cleared.

The visiting keeper kept weston in the game after a flick onto Sayoud provided him with plenty of time to beat Purnell but was saved by his body.

The visitors applied pressure on the blues backline, although they were unable to put the chances away when the ball was obtained.

The debut keeper Rhys Forster pulled a tremendous save from the stinging shot of Martin to remain goalless before the break.

The blues keeper was able to use his safe hands to deny the white shirts another chance as Randall pulled the ball across Forster claimed before it reached Howe.

The chances fell once again in the blues favour after Mazzone had an open net to place home but came off the heel of teammate Robertson.

After a really good opportunity from the home side, the visiting team were able to break the deadlock after a cross met the head of Laird at the near post leaving Forster no chance.

The blues saved some hope at the end after a cross from Knight met the stretched leg of Robertson to put the ball of the post and in.

The blues claimed a stroke of luck right at the end after a header from Ness came off the inside of the post.
