A Ferdinand Brace, followed by a beauty by Croix wins the points for the Blues...

The game began in a stiff unpredictable swirling wind with Red Kites circling above. On the pitch the home side were out of the blocks quickly putting Met under considerable pressure. But the first real chance fell to Jack Mazzone but his shot cleared the bar. Then for 20 minutes Kings Langley ran the game, opening the scoring on 10 minutes when a cross from the left which allowed Hoskins to get in front of Bernie Tanner to force home from close range. Ten minutes later it was 2-0 as Liam Beach parried a fierce shot only for Jellis to side foot home.

The response from Met was immediate and on 23 minutes a long ball from defence allowed Liam Ferdinand to rob a defender as he tried to control the ball to finish confidently from 15 yards. The complection of the game changed as Met dominated and had chances, hitting the post twice in quick succession. At last on 30 minutes the equaliser came courtesy of a delightful pass from Ollie Knight to put Ferdinand free on the left side of the penalty area, firing a left footed drive across the home keeper and into the far corner. So 2-2 at half time meant a very different half time talk for the manager.

The second half began much as the first with the home side trying to get on the front foot but gradually Met began to dominate. On 65 minutes Ferdinand in search of his hat trick chased a long ball into the penalty area only to be dragged down by the home keeper. Mazzone took the resulting penalty which struck the post and bounced back onto the diving keeper but out for the safety of a corner. Despite the frustration Met continued to press albeit Met keeper Liam Beech was called apron to make a fine diving save following a home side breakaway. Finally on 84 minutes Met got their reward when a fine centre from right back Charlie Wickham tested the home defence with the partial clearance sitting up for Sam de St Croix to thunder a drive into the far corner to secure the three points for Met. The result kept Met in third place and was their 12th away victory of the season.
