The History of Mickleover Jubilee

In 1977 a group of parents formed the club in order to provide football opportunities for their children. This was the year of the Queen’s Silver Jubilee and so our name was chosen to link to that year and event. We became members of the Derby City League, established in 1968, aiming at the age group 10-15 year olds.

Mickleover Jubilee’s ethos has been built around encouraging young people to enjoy playing the game of football at the highest level possible regarding sportsmanship and performance. This has resulted in the clubs growth, which continues to field teams from under 7's through to under 16 years of age and occasionally at under 18 years, in both the Derby Mini-Soccer League and Derby City League. We have also run successful girl's teams at various age groups.

Over the years, due to continuing efficient and effective committee management, a solid base has been built upon to support up to 10 team squads. We became an FA Charter Standard club in September 2002, one of the first in Derby to attain this award. We still maintain home pitch status within Mickleover.

Our current teams are listed on their own section on this website, please check or email the Chairman for more information.
