Have a read of the Chairmans notes ahead of tomorrows league game as we welcome Kirkley & Pakefield .

As some of you know, I am in Toronto this week on a business trip with my brother Dennis.

Some of you know him well of course, some of you remember him coming down a lot, years ago, but in recent years he has been struck down with golf madness, so sightings have been rarer than spotting Archie with a pint of real ale.

Long distance air travel cuts you off from the instant update of all important knowledge from the net. When the feed was lost, Bissouma had just got sent off for Tottenham, and Mildenhall were just arriving at Thetford.
About half an hour before landing in Canada, a stray message came over my dormant phone, 'John Kaye with the 1st Olly comes off bench scored 2-0 up Top league now boss'.
A message from our no 1 man, Richard ‘Big Boy’ Alderton.

Of course, when we landed, I was straight on checking the banter on the whatsapp, just feeling happy, relieved a bit, and wishing I was at the game. We now have won 9 straight and are in a good position.

Today we welcome Kirkley & Pakefield to the home of football, as we try to stretch our streak to ten. Kirkley are towards the lower end of the table, but have proven to be a bogey side over the years, giving us a 4-1 drubbing two seasons ago.

I remember the quote from one person when asked about travelling to Royston next week in the FA Cup...'I’m not watching this s**t, I've got better things to do!' In hindsight, I couldn't imagine many better things than watching our team win at step 3 Royston, Popey having an absolute worldie, and Cokes scoring a winner to send us fans into lala land.
That's non league football for you, you never really know what can happen, but the shared experience of the journey, the ups and downs, is really what makes it so special.

Kirkley & Pakefield have one of the best club crests in the league. featuring a big yellow sun rising above the waves of the sea. A simple but bold reminder that this is the most easterly part of our country, and the sun rises here before everywhere else in the Kingdom.
Lowestoft Town's Crown Meadow is slightly further east than KPs Walmer Road ground, but only just.

I know this should be at the top of the message, but unlike my predecessor, I want do more than just cut and paste the opposition names and put out the same thing every time, so now I would like to thank Stuart Brown from our insurance brokers, ONE BROKER, for kindly and generously, sponsoring todays match. Without the support of match sponsors, board sponsors, fans sponsors, we would be basically, in the mire. All teams at this level need financing, and contributers like ONE BROKER and of course all our other benefactors, are crucial.

That’s about it today, but a thought to consider is that Lakenheath are over one 3rd through their League season, and its only just one week into October! Is that daft? Enjoy what you've got here, it is precious, so look after it, nurture it.
