Unbeaten Run ends

Mill Hill went into this game with several players missing through injury but still fielded a good side against Lord Raglan both sides in the top 4 in the league, both sides took time to settle and defences were well on top in the opening exchanges but Mill Hill started to get the upper hand through their work rate and not allowing Raglan time to settle and the home side was rewarded on 23 minutes when a ball in from the right found Sam Fielden who picked his spot and slammed the ball home.
This goal spurred the home side on and the visitors struggled to get a foot in the game but the visitors dug deep to keep the home side out and they could have been level but for a tremendous volley hitting the bar and Auty in the home goal pulling off a good save to parry the ball for a corner HT 1-0.
the second half was end to end with both sides going close but as the half went on the visitors began to stretch Mill Hill as the work rate the hosts had demonstrated began to take its toll and the lack of a subs bench to make changes.
The visitors were deservedly level on 82 minutes when they were awarded a much disputed free kick which beat Jamie Auty at the far post much to his disgust. Both sides went in search of a winner with Duerden heading narrowly wide for Mill Hill but on 88 minutes the visitors attacked down the left and a shot was misjudged by the keeper and went in to the net to send the away supporters wild with delight.
In truth neither side at their best and probably a draw was a fair result but you don't always get what you deserve in football we go again.
