Firstly, Happy New Year! Wow what a year!

Dear Rugby family!

It seems such a long time ago that that our club was celebrating such success on the field of play, our seniors were enjoying an amazing run of success winning several trophies, accolades and promotion to level 7. We were fielding 3 senior sides and on a Sunday our club was packed to the rafters with our minis, juniors and girls sections attracting fantastic numbers of players and parents on a Sunday. The club as ever was on the up with a palpable "Buzz" about the place, little did we know what was round the corner with the advent of the COVID pandemic and the new normal.

I've highlighted in previous statements the steps the club has taken to safeguard our staff, our clubs future and to ensure we continue to offer a fun, inclusive and above all safe rugby experience to you all.

None of this would have been possible without your help, support and belief in our club and what we do, as I have asserted before, we are a community club with a passion for the game of rugby union, never has that been more evident than now.

Our players, both senior and age grade have been fantastic in their commitment to training and to ensure they are ready to represent our club when we finally take to the field of play.

Our parents, patrons and supporters have been superb, in their support of the club, showing their unwavering support whether it be attending events or supporting their child pitch side at the weekends.

Our staff have been fully supportive of our plans, playing their part in ensuring we have a bright future once we emerge from the current challenges.

I would like however like to understandably reserve my final thanks for our dedicated group of volunteers, you really are the lifeblood of our club and without you we simply could not have achieved what we have this year.

Councillors James Lancaster and Saleena Raja described Milton Keynes Rugby Club as "Community Champions" this simply could not happen without you and your steadfast support

Under the most challenging and unprecedented of circumstances, you have coached, you provided our first aid cover and you have managed our squads under what at the time must have felt like a barrage of information, new regulations and working practices. Your contributions have ensured that as a club we "Kept calm and Carried On" often with little thanks or indeed notice.... On behalf of the club committee, I will look to put that right, when we can do so appropriately and safely.

2020 has provided the club with its greatest challenges, hopefully 2021 will enable us to get back to what we love to do- supporting our teams.

As we move into 2021, we will continue to monitor the governments and RFU guidelines and advise you of our next steps.

On behalf of the club committee i would like to wish you all and your families a wonderful and above all safe Christmas and a happy New Year

Better days are ahead of us, we are Milton Keynes RUFC!

Best Wishes,

Paul Savill. Chairman
