The Sun was out and and shining for our first match of the season for the MK U14 squad.

We knew that this training match against Bedford Blues at home was going to be tough. But this did not worry the 14 boys from MK that turned up to give it their best.
The match was going to be split into 4 short games lasting for 12 minutes each. This allowed us to make changes if necessary.
The 1st quarter started and all the MK lads were outstanding and were all on top form, most of them put some amazing tackles in. Bedford tried very hard to score but MK would not let this happen. To the end of the 1st quarter Callum put a stop to the huge lad (twice this size of him) running with the ball towards the try line with an awesome tackle. This stopped Bedford from scoring and the score remained at 0-0.
In the 2nd quarter it looked like Bedford was showing concerns because they swapped players around and brought on some new faces. Most of the Bedford squad were towering over MK, but this did not stop the boys from giving it their best. Scrum half Ryan was doing a great job and like always he kept he's eye on the ball in the scrum. MK were begining to tire and this ended up costing them several tries to the end of the 2nd quarter.
Captain Jamie gave some words of encouragement to MK squad in the 3rd quarter, which was soon followed by Elliot putting in a great tackle to which stopped Bedford getting past again. At this stage the lads at MK were really tiring and fresh legs on the Bedford side was being used as an advantage and they soon ran past to score a multiple of tries.
After a short break and a chat by the coaches the final quarter began and the MK lads lifted their heads and with what energy they had left managed to give it their all. Daecha was there again with another outstanding tackle to stop Bedford getting through. Eventually Bedford did manage to get through our defence to score several more tries before the game came to the end.

The Coaches and I are so proud with the way you all played, especially in the 1st quarter. It was great rugby and a pleasure to watch from the side lines.

Well done to the lads of MK and a well done to Bedford Blues it was all great and friendly rugby!

Dont forget Training on Wednesday 18:30 - 20:00.
