MK 2s 20 - 5 Cranfield Uni

The Super 2s came across a young and fit university side but had the luxury of a top quality back line even if we did miss Keio.
The game started well for MK with the forwards putting their tackles in and the ever improving MarK Rawlinson doing great work at the set pieces. Mark Robinson was an excellent pack leader running hard and organising the forwards.
Was great to see Owen Ledger back at scrum half in the thick of everything. The constant pressure from MK told and we were awarded an early penalty which Scott slotted over with aplomb. From the restart the forwards made the hard yards before the little general (Marc Bull) shipped the ball out fast to the backs for Joe Fitzgerald who beat his winger with ease and race in from the half way line.
The next score was a truly pack effort strong running and support by the whole 8 dictated to by the assured Owen Ledger ended up with Ben getting his well-deserved try.
The rest of the half was scoreless not through any lack of endeavour or power from the battering ram that is Keith ,assisted by go forward ball from Eric ,Mark and Fraser.
The second half rang changes with youth coming on in Adam,Rob,Harry and Dave (Las for 10 Mins).
The young guns took a while to settle but as they have done all season they never ducked a challenge and tackled like lions a true credit to the coaching set up in the juniors. Whilst the team where just reforming the visitors took a quick penalty and scored their only try of the game. The disgust in the team for letting are selves down was apparent this set of lads have set a high bar that as a unit we strive to achieve.
Now with the bit between are teeth we batter are way down into the scoring zone and with the ever impressive Bully shipping it out to Joe to score his second of the game. This was not the only chance we had in the second half Joe could have got a third, Matt was put through by Dave Samworths great hands only for the ref to call it back for the less great hands of Scotty .
The report cannot end without a mention to a great clubman James Day fantastic to have him back on the pitch but I will never give you an easier chance to score!!! Dropping the ball over the line then going home early!!!
