2nds back to winning ways just!
The seconds took to the pitch against an OK Brackley outfit, not sure what the problem was but the attitude was all wrong from the home side and it cost us with 20 minutes in the Brackley 10 brushed past several players that went high! To score an easy try. Even this did not wake up the team and shortly afterwards the Brackley backs shipped the ball out to the wing where there was no cover and their 13 raced in very an easy score. Luckily soon after the 1st half was over and Fitz and the always inspirational Dave Brown gave the team a well-deserved dressing down as this was nowhere near the standard we have set are selves.
The 2nd half started a lot better with Eric, Zac and Brownie making good yards every time they got the ball. The hard work from the forwards paid off and great hands from Keio put are flying Yank/Canadian Gregg into the corner. Finally with a bit of momentum generated from the forwards Browie held back the years and raced in for are second try of the afternoon placing it close to the posts to make a simple conversion for Dan Jones.
The lads now with the bit between their teeth kept the ball and fought for every inch until we were yet again in the scoring zone, with the build-up of pressure Brackley had no option but to give away a penalty which Dan Jones slotted over to put MK in front for the first time, now all we had to do was dig in and fight and finally the real super 2s showed up putting their bodies on the line determined not to lose this one, the likes of Fitz, Keith and Keio led this putting in some great tackles but by no way were they the only ones.
Was great to see Declan back playing after injury such a class play also George Ray following up on last season tackling everything that moved. Two great additions to the squad!
