Our visitors for a flood lit Friday night match were Whitchurch who have traveled down from Shropshire on tour.
Playing on a very muddy and wet pitch, it had been raining all day, the spectators witnessed a competitive games which, as teh saying goes, was really a 'game of two halves'.
Whitchurch started strongly, obviously able to get the long journey out of their legs quickly and put together some good phased play despite the conditions. They repeatedly found gaps in Cities defence and scored four unanswered tries.
Turning round at half time and making a number of changes City were a lot more competitive in the second half with the forwards working hard at the break down and the backs trying to run the ball it what was now quite heavy drizzle.
Eventually the pressure told and city scored to end the game 7 -22.
After the match both teams enjoyed some great food and hospitality - the donuts were magnificent!
Tokens were exchanged between the teams and City wished Whitchurch well for the remainder of their tour in Buckinghamshire.
