After last weeks exit from the FA Vase Milton needed to bounce back to there recent form of late and to give the Milton fans a show, and the boys came through with a great fighting attitude in the game. The first half was a little messy at times we were struggling to put passes together Miltons youngest player Jason McCabe was given his first start in the game and did well with the support of the other lads around him. we pressed on trying to make something happen but in the end Cheltenham struck the first blow in the 35th minute that I think pressed the button for Milton to start waking up to the challenge. In the second Half Pual Beddwell Made two substitutions Robbie Joyce for young McCabe up front and Jonny James to right full back. Things started to go are way and the strength up front from Joyce started to put pressure on Cheltenham another substitution was Mattie Chomyn who did really well and his speed helped the game as well. Milton pressed on with the game and in the dying seconds of Injury time Adam Bruce fired in from 10 yards to take the game to extra time. After 30 minutes it was 0-0 and the penalty shootout began. The penalty shootout came down to sudden death when the Last penalty from Cheltenham was to win the game Griffiths concentration had to be first class and it was the penalty was struck to the left of Griffiths who dived the right way and palmed the ball away to then be mobbed by all his Milton team mates. this was just what we needed after last week so well done to the boys and lets get back on track.
