Mold started the brighter with George Baxter looking dangerous he was on the end of a couple of chances that were saved by Gresford's keeper.
Gresford's best first half chance came near the end of the first half when their striker poked the ball past John Burns but could not beat defender Joe Tierney who cleared the ball before it trickled over the line.
The second half again was tight with Gresford bringing on a substitute who made a difference and was close to scoring a couple of goals. Late on in the half Mold were back on top and had a few chances in the closing minutes to win the game. Mold now go one point clear of Hawarden in the race for the league title.
Assistant Manager Russ Higgins said after the game 'This was always going to be a tricky place to come, we would have loved to take all three points back home to Mold but it wasn't to be on the night. The lads worked their socks off and it could prove to be a very important point come the end of the season. We are all looking forward to the League Cup semi final on Saturday at Saltney'
