A former Mold RFC youngster is gearing up to take on the old enemy on Saturday as Wales under-20s take on their English counterparts in the junior Six Nations.
Cardiff Blues Academy tight-head prop, Joe Jones, 19, who hails from Gwernymynydd in Flintshire, is in the Wales U20 Six Nations squad and has his fingers crossed he will be selected to start the game or, at the very least, come off the bench.
But ambitious Jones says he hopes playing for the U20 international squad will prove a stepping stone on his journey to full senior international honours.
He said: “My dream is to step out at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff or at Twickenham to play for Wales against England. That’s what I’m hopefully working toward.
“That would be the icing on the cake especially if I could become a regular in the Wales senior side.”
