The Moles might consider themselves unfortunate to come away with nothing having dominated the second half, but were made to pay for a desperately poor start and their inability to defend set pieces.
All four goals came from set pieces, with far post headers from Frankie Swayer and Alfie Ambridge from a corner and long throw giving the visitors a two goal lead in the opening fifteen minutes.
Tayo Oyebola was given a full debut after a number of lively substitute appearances, and had almost opened the scoring within the opening moments but saw his shot deflected over.
The visitors were sharper to the ball and swifter to use it, although Ross Chalke did have two sights of goal, planting a header just wide and then seeing a goalbound shot blocked by a defender.
Josh Andrew sliced an effort hopelessly wide when well placed, but moments later made up for it by slotting home from an almost identical position from Olu Akinsanya's cross.
Once again their soft underbelly at set pieces cost them, as just two minutes later Jack Barry restored Sports' two goal lead after Craig Lewington could only flick a corner into his path.
The Moles needed to make a fast start to the second half to claw their way back into the game, and thankfully they did.
Oyebola was once again involved, having a deflected header tipped onto the bar, but they ball fell kindly for Andrew to smash home a volley from a difficult angle.
It was all Molesey from then on. Andrew and Ashley Lodge caused all sorts of problems for the visitors down the Molesey left, with Andrew twice firing just wide.
However, when the Moles conceded a corner with twelve minutes to go there was a sense of inevitability when Barry powered home a corner for his second of the game.
The Moles continued to press, and once again reduced the deficit with substitute Anthony Kozakis' smart turn and finish, but it turned out to be the final action of the game.
