Molesey's winless run extended to seven games in all competitions with a disappointing 2-0 home defeat to Wembley.

Two cool finishes from Issah Adubakar proved the difference between the sides in a desperately poor game played on a challenging surface.

Wembley looked every bit a bottom eight side but were very well organised and came with a game plan to press the Moles high up the pitch and catch them on the counter attack. They thoroughly deserved to complete the double over the Moles following their victory at Vale Farm in December, and in Adubakar carried a genuine goal threat.

One of the very few plus points for the home side was a promising debut for reserve team left back Stephen Mwinie. Despite the ill-conceived idea to put him on corner duty he put in an assured display in the absence of Tom Dilloway.

In the absence of Tommy Harper and top scorer Lewis Ackerman the Moles were toothless in attack, despite the best efforts of Ross Chalke playing on the left of a front three. Chalke had the game's first chance in the opening minute but Bart Fogler got down well to tip his shot around the post.

Wembley took the lead on ten minutes when a ball from out wide on the halfway line found Adubakar with way too much time and he waited for the high bounce to come down before firing smartly past Wester Young.

The Moles defence were all at sea once again three minutes later when a lightning quick counter-attack resulted in Adrian Dinham's cross finding Paul Shelton unmarked ten yards from goal and he should have done better than to put his volley wide.

Young's poor throw could only pick out Wembley left back Taiwo Edun 40 yards from goal, and he rode four half-hearted challenges to find himself one on one with the Moles keeper and was unlucky to see his shot just clear the far post.

Chalke had another effort for the Moles that was once again well saved by Fogler, whilst another quick counter attack resulted in Young saving well from Dinham.

Adubakar nearly added a second ten minutes into the second half but his swerving volley was superbly tipped over by Young, and the only genuine opportunity that came the Moles' way in the second period was a free kick by Dean Thomas that missed the top corner by a matter of inches.

However, by that time they were two down when another through ball ball picked out Adubakar without a defender within ten yards of him. Young began to close him down but changed his mind and was caught in no man's land as the Wembley forward calmly placed his effort beyond him and into the net.

The introduction of Arnold Tawonezvi and Paul Cross added some much needed urgency to the Moles attack, although the only efforts on goal in the closing stages were opportunist strikes from Chalke and Joe Pratley-Jones that didn't trouble Fogler.
