AFC Monton Veterans hosted table topping Broadheath Central Veterans for this Cheshire League Veterans First Division fixture and both sides finished with a fair share of the points. The Ammies were playing their first game since the 1st of December and for the first twenty minutes it certainly showed as the visitors raced into a two goal lead, managing to score after just ten minutes and then twelve minutes later but Monton were able to reduce their lead on twenty two minutes as Skipper Rick Hodkin converted from the penalty spot following a careless Broadheath challenge. With the scores remaining level at half time the next goal would prove to be important and it was Monton that found the back of the Broadheath net as the livewire Matty Edge finished from close range. Monton`s tails were up and they took a well deserved lead with a stunning thirty yard shot from Danny Doherty on fifty four minutes and then created a couple more chances to wrap the game up but unfortunately the slice of luck needed deserted them and Broadheath found some renewed confidence as they found their own equaliser just two minutes from the final whistle to give both sides a share of the points.
