Roselea travelled to Laing Park to face twice Champions Carnoustie Panmure in their 5th league match. After losing the opening game at Tayport, Roselea had picked up with 3 wins on the trot. Carnoustie had not had the best of starts however after losing their opening two games they had gone on to win their next two so it was all set up for an interesting match. Ex Roselea favourite Dale Reid now the darling of the Gowfers faced his old side.

Roselea: Middleton, Ferries, Taylor, Stephen, Gribben, Martin, Smith, Bailey, Duff, Greig & Thomson. Subs: Rae, McDonald, Jamieson, Davidson, Reoch, Robertson & Mitchell

Roselea made a good start and in 5 mins Greig chested to Duff but his volley bloced

In 10 Reid had a shot blocked then Middleton had to deal with a couple of dangerous crosses

Chance for Carnoustie when an Scobie crossed from the left and Simpson headed just wide in 20 mins. Carnoustie had a great chance when Simpson cut back to ex Roselea player Reid who scooped his shot over

Carnoustie took the lead in 28 Reid played a clever ball which released MCDONALD and he cut inside before his deflected shot hit the net

It was 2-0 on the half hour mark. SIMPSON received the ball and his chip agonisingly dropped into the net with Middleton getting a hand to it

Carnoustie were rampant and a minute later Joyce smacked a shot off the bar then Middelton pulled off a great save when Reid was put through.

Roselea got a lifeline when after a scramble in the box and DUFFs deflected shot scrambled into the net.

In 40 minutes Roselea drew level courtesy of a penalty. THOMSON was brought down as he received a thrown in and despatched his penalty into the corner of the net.

Carnoustie broke on 47 and McDonald almost found Reid in the box but Stephen intercepted.

Roselea were forced into a change when Stephen pulled up and was replaced by Reoch in 50 mins

Dale Reid had a great chance when Reoch & Gribben got in each others way leaving the striker in on goal but Middleton pulled off a wonder save to keep it level

Great move from Roselea saw Martin break down the right and his low cross was met by Duff but Clarkson smothered

Roselea made a double sub in 73 when Rae & Davidson replaced Taylor & Bailey

Carnoustie went ahead in 75. Sub winter played in Simpson down the right and his low cross was well finished by FRASER at the far post

Rae was replaced by McDonald in 80 after picking up an injury

Roselea were harshly done by in the 88th minute when Thomson was through on goal but was brutally brought down. Smith was shown a red card and scant reward was a free kick outside the box. Davidson sent the free kick just wide of the wall. To be fair the professional foul was what most would have done in the same position.

After a decent start Roselea fell behind to two goals and for a few minutes looked like it could be more but they battled back well to get into the game. The third goal was a body blow and to rub salt into the wounds the professional foul at the end was unsporting but as said already what all would do in the same position.The result sees Roselea drop a place in the League to 6th but still a solid start for them

After two away matches Roselea now have two home League games at Links Park with Broughty Athletic on Weds 9th KO 8.00pm and Brechin Vics on Sat 12th KO 2.30pm
