Boosted by a fine display against Brechin Vics on Saturday Roselea headed to Dundee North End looking to add another 3 points to their league tally.
Roselea line up: Middleton, Ferries (Stephen 79), Reoch, Gribben, Donald, Martin, Smith, Bailey (Soutar 72), Greig (Davidson 86), Thomson, Duff. Substitutes: Robertson, Stephen, Taylor, Davidson, Soutar.
Roselea made a great start to the game and took the lead in 15 minutes. Gribben played a free kick from half way over the home defence and EUAN DUFF managed to spring the offside trap and fire an unstoppable volley from 16 yards into the top left corner. A few minutes later a Devine free kick from 20 yards was brilliantly saved by Middleton in the Roselea goal. North End went close in 36 minutes when Montgomery picked up a loose ball 30 yards out and unleashed a pile driver that shook the woodwork.
HT 0-1
After a cagey start to the 2nd half by both sides North End drew level when Rice drove down the left wing and sent a great cross into the box that JORDAN HUTER headed home from 6 yards. The visitors had a great chance to go back in front when Martin played a long pass to Duff who was clear on goal but his effort from 15 yards was well saved by Adam. Roselea regained the lead in 73 minutes when Greig blocked a clearance that rebounded to keeper Adam and his attempted punt up field was charged down by EUAN DUFF and the ball rolled into the back of the net. The visitor’s lead was short lived when 5 minutes later North End equalised when Devine played the ball wide to Hunter who drove into the box and squared the ball to JAMIE MONTGOMERY who made no mistake with an easy finish from 6 yards. The home side almost snatched victory with just 2 minutes left when Rice curled in a free kick from 20 yards but his effort came back off the underside of the bar and away to safety.
Over the 90 minutes a share of the points was probably a fair result with both teams focused on attacking football. Next up for Roselea is another trip south to meet Dundee Violet at Glenesk Park KO 2.30pm.
