This evening Roselea faced Stonehaven in a North Grill League Cup tie at Links Park.
Roselea lined up as follows:
Tweed, McDonald, Reoch, Stephen, Taylor ,Bailey, Beedie, Thomson, Greig, Alberts, Callum Watson. substitutes: Davidson, Gill, Jamieson McCormack, Rae, Robertson, Garnham.
Roselea started well taking the game to Stonehaven and had several shots narrowly past or held comfortably by the keeper. One of these by Bailey, clipped the outside of the post. Play ebbed and flowed and just as half time approached, Stonehaven broke the deadlock with a wonderful strike by Boylan into the top corner, giving Tweed no chance.

Into the second half and Alberts just failed to connect with a cross. In 48 minutes Garnham came on for the injured Callum Watson and then Taylor limped off with a leg injury and was replaced by Davidson. Roselea stepped up a gear and Jamieson was introduced For Alberts .In 61 minutes, Garnham saw his shot hit the post. Roselea got the equaliser in 68 minutes when GARNHAM broke in the box and slotted home expertly. The game flowed from end to end and unbelievably Roselea hit the woodwork again when Garnham's shot came off the inside of the post. Roselea pressed hard but were dealt a sucker punch following a defensive error, Bailey giving Stonehaven a 2-1 lead. A final push by Roselea could not secure an equaliser and the game finished

A thoroughly entertaining game and a good effort by Roselea. They will now have to pick up the pieces and go again this Saturday away to Dyce in a league fixture.
