This program was developed in conjunction with Active schools Angus and Montrose Rugby club to help primary age players who are struggling with physical literacy and social skills in school and at home.
The players are identifies by the schools and are taken out of class in small groups ( max 8 ) for 1 hour a week to take part in the 6 week program. Due to the success of the pilot program in two schools in Feb/March 2023 the program will be run again during academic year 2023-24.
Teachers noticed increased concentration , increased confidence with peers and staff as well as new friendships being made. Families said that the players were more active , happier and more confident going to school as well as more interested in joining clubs outside of school.
