The Moorabbin Rams have held firm to clinch an eleven point win over Endeavour Hills on Saturday afternoon at Harold Caterson Reserve.
Rams number eight Mana Faraimo was influential in the victory as he bagged a hattrick.
Endeavour Hills were the first to score after they converted a penalty in the early stages of the game.
Marac Beckham combined well with Simon Brown down the left wing as the latter put the home side in front as he dived over the line on the 15th minute mark.
The last ten minutes of the half, proved to be a tough battle for both sides as they tried to stamp their authority on the game.
The Rams finally got their reward after mounting pressure on multiple occasions, as Troy Cobden barged his way over the line to extend their lead to nine points minutes before the main break.
A powerful scrum by the Rams close to the line played Faraimo into space as he extended the Rams lead to a 13 point ball game just after the main break.
Endeavour Hills replied when they try scored their first try five minutes into the second half.
More pressure from Moorabbin saw the Rams finally made the most of their chances as Mana crosses for his second. He then completed his hat trick with 15 minutes remaining to put his side up by 23 points.
Endeavour Hills responded when they scored two tries in the space of a couple of minutes to make it an 11 point ball game with nine minutes to go.
The last few minutes of the game proved to a close one where Endeavour Hills were desperate to find a try, but the Rams defensive line were calm and cool headed and forced the play toward the middle of the park.
Endeavour Hills continued to threaten in the last couple of minutes, but the home side held firm to claim the win.
