{Noah en route for his try against Pocklington in mid-September}
Pocklington visit Scatcherd Lane as league leaders with 45 points and 9 wins out of a possible 11. A couple of recent defeats against Malton and Norton ( H 14 - 16) and Bradford Salem (A 18 - 23) have slowed their progress over the last two weeks. However, it will have focussed their minds on avoiding a hat trick of defeats and make Morley's task that bit harder.
Morley are in 4th position, just 7 points behind Pocklington with Scarborough (44 points) and Old Brods. (38 points) sandwiched in between as we reach the halfway stage in the league season.
Morley lost 24 - 29 away to Pocklington back in September. Pocklington stormed into a 7 - 0 lead after only 4 minutes with converted try by prop Crotty. But Morley hit back on 10 minutes with a converted try by Harry Jeffery. Two tries in the next 8 minutes from Dixon (Pock) and Mickey Ryan (Morley) gave Pocklington a half time lead of 19 - 14. A Hawkins special put Morley into a 21 - 19 lead but a penalty by Pollock edged Pock back in front at 22 - 21. A yellow card against Pocklington gave Morley an advantage but Pock saw out the 10 minutes and went with their 4th try on 74 minutes. Morley tried hard to regain their lead but could only manage a penalty from Charlie Frankland on 79 minutes. Morley were pressing hard at the very end and had a 5m attacking lineout but lost the throw in and the game.
Morley are still without the injured Silkstone, Brereton, Cass, Abbott and Bennett with Peltier and Tyrer unavailable. However, the 18 man squad is relatively unchanged from the teams which have beaten Old Brods., Moortown and Malton & Norton in the last three games.
Theo is unavailable this week so the versatile Mickey Ryan moves to centre and Frazer Cass replaces Mickey on the wing. The remaining players are unchanged.
The previous encounter was a tight, exciting encounter which was not decided until the last play of the game. A similar match is expected tomorrow!

Unfortunately, the Cavaliers match against local rivals Cleckheaton has had to be postponed due to ground conditions. The Cavaliers were looking to extend their run of 3 consecutive victories but will now have to sit in the stand and cheer on their colleagues.
