A terrific performance by the under 8's against Bramley.
Sunday was a much better day than of late and it certainly seemed to liven up our under 8's.
Right from the off Morley were more lively than Bramley and outplayed them throughout.
Great tries and brilliant tagging from the boys had Bramley on the back foot from the start as Morley took command.
An excellent display from the whole team.
Thomas (showing speed and balance) ran in 9 tries in all. Oliver weighed in, dodging and weaving through the defence with a hat trick.
2 tries from the hard running Ewan, 2 great efforts from Harry and 1 from Arran completed the scoring.
In my opinion the best try of the game came from Arran as he burst through the Bramley defence with a strong run, shaking off all the pursuers but one, then (cheered on by the parents) a lovely side step to the right sent him in at the corner.
It wasn't just a game of tries though as Morley showed superb tagging ability. I counted at least 5 times where Morley pushed Bramley back by completing 6 tags to force the turn over. Hard work and tagging from Alex. Fast tagging from Callum and Leighton.
A few times our tagging was so good that the players lost 2 tags at once.
We had good passing and handling throughout with good assists from Alex and Leighton. Callum scored a try after really hard work but was unfortunate to have it ruled out for a foot in touch.
It wasn't all one way traffic as Bramley played really well too and a mention for the only girl on the pitch Bramley's Katie ran in a quality hat trick.
All in all a very enjoyable game to watch and nice to see the boys come off with big smiles and a well deserved round of applause from everyone there.
