Result

Game one

Morley 25 Old Brods 10
A good fast start from our lads saw Old Brods pushed back onto the defence. Morley used the slope of the pitch really well and with the wind on their backs kept Old Brods on the defensive for the whole of the first half. Thomas was really dangerous every time he got the ball. Very strong carries from Harry B who is becoming a very strong lad indeed. Good ball carrying and off loading from Harry T and Matthew. Cameron was his usual self and caused problems for the Old Brods defence. Good back up play from Alex and Joe. Some very good work from Arran. Good running from Dom, Euan and Finlay. Jack and Jamie made lots of yards every time they were in possession. Oliver had a really good game both carrying and tackling. Old Brods battled back in the second half but Morley finished the game on top.
A really good performance in testing conditions.
Tries were scored by Thomas (2). Euan, Jack and Jamie

Game two

Morley 40 Old Rishworthians 10
A surprise result (for me) on this one. We played back to back games and Rishworth looked very powerful.
Right from the off Morley were really 'up for this one'. One of the best performances of the season saw us take the game to them for the whole game.
Oliver was again running well and his handling was top notch. Alex got in some tackles and some good passes. Thomas and Dominic were full of pacy running. Euan was tackling very hard. Harry B again was a powerhouse through the middle. Harry T made yards every time he got the ball and made good passes. Matthew had some encouraging runs. Arran worked really hard and stopped a few players making progress. Jack had another really good game. Jamie made some great runs. Cameron had a real battle in this game and played really well (despite having his head stood on). Joe picked up well at the ruck and passed well. Finlay also made good runs and tackled hard.
A really super performance full of power and pace (even uphill against a very strong wind).
Tries went to Dominic 3 (a brilliant hat trick). Thomas 2, Jack, Euan and Harry B completed the scoring.

Man of the match? The award was shared today between
Dominic and Jack who both deserved it. On such a top team performance the award could have been given to any of the boys and it was very difficult to choose.
