First up
Sandal 15 Morley 5
A good effort this against a strong Sandal first team.
Cameron , Jack and Jamie all got in good tackles. Leo, Alex and Arran backed up well. Lewis and Joe got in some good passing. Good runs made by Thomas, Dominic and Finlay. Matthew made good yards. Oliver was always involved.
Thomas scored our only try of the game but all the boys tried really hard and played well.
Second up
Morley 20 Barbarians (mixed team) 10
A good performance again by Morley against a good mixed team. Lewis and Joe passed the ball well. Strong running from Jack and Jamie. Cameron made some really good passes. Alex and Arran held the line well. Leo and Matthew got in some good work. Some pleasing runs from Oliver, Dominic and Finlay. Thomas played well but unfortunately picked up a finger injury which was to deprive us of his services for the rest of the day.
Tries were scored by Finlay, Dominic, Jack and Oliver.
Third up
Morley 10 Roundhegians 10
A really good game this one. Great runs from Jack, Dominic, Jamie and Cameron. Alex got in some heavy work. Arran was fast into the tackles and drove Roundhegians back. Oliver, Lewis, Joe and Leo were all working hard and playing well. Finlay and Matthew also made up lots of ground when in possession.
The two tries were scored by Jack with his usual jinking run and Alex scored a rare try powering through the defence, in the words of coach Mark 'Like a young Jonah Lomu'. Good to see.
Finally
Otley 20 Morley 0
The boys were running on empty a bit by the last game against Otley first team.
Good to see Alex take on their biggest player with the first tackle of the match. Great work from Jack and Jamie making many yards. Cameron and Finlay made lots of yards and passes. Leo is still making progress and got in some good stops. Lewis and Joe both made good runs. Matthew and Arran worked hard and stopped a few attacks. Dominic and Oliver had to work hard in defence
Overall a very pleasing performance by our boys to say we had players and coaches missing a really good days work.
Man of the match awards today went to Alex (richly deserved for his best performance in a Morley shirt) and Jack who did really well and also deserved his award.
