The 1st XI were in mid-week action on the road to Bangor on Tuesday night. With the sea-siders on a strong recruitment drive over the Summer months this was set to be a tough encounter for Mossley against an IHL2 outfit. The opening exchanges saw Bangor get the better of the goal-scoring chances, finding their way behind the Mossley defence and a number of balls were flashed across the Mossley goal but no-one was able to get the crucial final touch. Once Mossley got themselves settled into the match they started to give the home side some trouble and create chances of their own and took the lead when Rory Laverty fired the ball to Jordan Robinson who deflected the ball past the keeper from close range. In the closing plays of the second half Bangor pulled level from open play despite the best efforts of Owen Doole in the Mossley goal.
Mossley were the better side in the second half, enjoying the lions share of possession and created a number of opportunities to regain the lead but some strong defending and a couple of smart saves kept the match all square at 1-1. Finishing the match strongly Mossley were unlucky to come away with only 1 point but plenty of positives to take away as the Premier League season progresses.
