Jase Meadows previews this weeks fixture for the Evening Mail.
After the disappointment of last week’s last minute one point defeat in the Cumbria Cup to Egremont, Millom will be looking to build on what was a great effort by the blue and whites of Wilson Park. Although missing stalwart Ian Cummings, who will be a big loss this week, there are positives.
Trevor Dixon and Doug Jardine return to the side at wing forward and wing respectively with fellow back row forward David Thompson hopeful of carrying on his try scoring exploits of last week. Craig Mounsey and John Moyes continue at half backs looking to release a back line containing Ryan Carter and Shane Clarke at centre and Wing man John Falconer joining Jardine out wide.
Front three of Tony Swales, Dean Doyle and Steve Watson will look to take the team forward at every opportunity backed up by second row power houses Metcalf and Rogan. Keeping his position in at loose forward is James Wilson who came through his first game back with great aplomb. There is no doubt that this will be a toughie for Millom but the way they performed last week will have Keswick quaking in the boots
