Millom 1st struggled last week against a well drilled Whitehaven side. The team were missing key players and this was clear from the first 10mins of the game. The team have re-grouped at training and have talked openly about the performance and are ready to put it right for the home crowd this weekend against Carlisle.
The team welcome back players which are ready to make a big impacted, Matty Jordan (Flanker), Trevor Dixon (Centre), James Wilson (8) and John Falconer (Full Back) Also the one shining light from last week’s home performance was Robbie Pattinson coming off the bench to put in a solid game at scrum half which gets him a starting spot this weekend.
The team looks very strong up front this weekend with Millom going for power, Steven Watson gets his starting shirt back alongside Dean Doyle at hooker and Ian Cummings stepping forward to prop to give a solid front row. The 2nd rows are just as big with Kieron Rogan and Callum Lamont adding extra strength to the side. The back 3 are showing their class this year with Joe Laydon leading the way, Matty Jordan engine never stops and James Wilson experience and knowledge show make a difficult back 3 to deal with.
Young Robbie Pattinson and Chris Park make up the three quarters and will be looking at dictating the play all afternoon. Strong running Trevor Dixon and hard tackling Ryan Carter make up the centres, with nothing but speedy outside them as Jordan Moyes and Jarty Robinson will be looking at finishing any chances that come their way. Returning John Falconer will be a plus at full back and can expect him to challenge the Carlisle defence. Millom’s bench sees a group of young lads get their chance with the 1st 15 Callum Loughran, Joe Tomlinson and Joe Fisher will be all looking to take their chance when it comes along.
Millom are looking at this game to restart the season and start achieving the result they know they are capable of.
