Kendal earned a hard fought victory over Millom at Mint Bridge on Saturday.
Millom started the game brightly and early pressure led to their first try after 5 minutes as Jason Metcalf forced his way over the line. Further scores from Hugh Sweeney and a superb individual try from Trevor Dixon gave Millom a slender half time lead as Kendal hit back with two scores of their own on the counter attack.
The half time interval brought the rain and with it a shift in momentum. Millom were guilty of turning too much ball over and ill discipline as the penalty count was increasing against them. Kendal took advantage of this and forced their way into an unassailable 32-20 lead going into the last play of the game where Jason Metcalf scored Milloms 4th try which put them within 7 points and earned Millom 2 Cumbria league bonus points.
