It is probably pointless in speculating what will happen next, as no-one really knows what the medical experts will advise.
Here, in Spain, they are still hoping to complete the season .. but when is an unknown.
Players may refuse to travel to areas of the country that have been more affected. What about contracts post-June . Also, in the 2nd division, two of the teams come from the Canary Islands. They are also talking of playing twice a week for six weeks. Given the long travelling distances involved here that it another issue. As would they temperature in July and August.
If the season is cancelled will any teams get promoted and or relegated? No one can say.
How can teams plan budgets and signings going forward?
What has also been published here in Spain is that all matches will be played behind closed-doors. They will not allow spectators into stadiums at any time during 2020. Thereafter they will stagger attendance maximums. It looks like being a complete nightmare. This season and next.
Personally, it is such a shame, as my local team Cádiz CF have led the 2nd division for 29 of the 31 weeks of the season and were looking good for promotion to La Liga.
Anyhow, football is not an important priority at present.
