When Slough Town played Woking at Arbour Park on 17th November, the Cards had just returned to lead the table, together wit Billericay Town, after securing a late 89th minute winning goal away against Gloucester City. Indeed they have netted last gasp goals to either win or draw on seven occasions this season, including their last two outings.

They reached this stage by beating Tooting & Mitcham United 4 - 0 (home, 2Q); Kempston Rovers 3 - 2 (home, 3Q); Welling United 1 - 0 (home, 4Q); Torquay United 0 - 1 (away, 1P) and Swindon Town 0- 1 (away, 2P).

In the F. A. Trophy they beat Folkestone Invicta 2 - 0 (H) in the 3rd Round Qualifying before being beaten in the 1st Round Proper 3 - 2, away, after extra time in a replay following a 1 - 1 home draw against Conference National Maidstone United.
