Hungerford Town v Slough Town, National League South, Bulpit Lane, Hungerford, Berks. Tuesday 6th August Kick-Off 19h45

Rebels travel to west Berkshire for their opening away fixture of the season. Both teams lost their opening day match and will be keen to get some points on the board.

Last season Rebels played Crusaders twice at Bulpit Lane. Firstly, in the Quarter Final of the Berkshire Senior Cup with Rebels winning 1 - 2 with a brace from Ben Harris, including a 90+1m winner. They then recorded the same result, winning 1 - 2 , in the league encounter in early April . Mark Nisbet netting in the 2nd minute and Expiteta playing the ball into his own net in the 32nd minute. Guy Hollis being sent off just after the 70th minute mark.

Season 2018/19 was another tough year for Hungerford Town. For the second successive season they finished just one place, 19th, above the relegation zone. Only Gloucester City and East Thurrock United scored fewer goals , while relegated Truro City and Weston-s-Mare conceded more. Their full league record being: P 42: Home W6 D6 L9: Away W5 D3 L13 - GF45 GA72 - Points 42.

The seasons' highlights were their 1 - 2 away win at Billericay Town and their 0 - 1 away success against champions Torquay United. The lowlight of the campaign being their 0 - 6 home drubbing by Chelmsford City.

In last seasons' two major cup competitions they were beaten in the early qualifying rounds. In the F.A. Cup they beat Wantage Town in the 2nd qualifying round - D 1 - 1 (H), D 2 - 2 (A), winning the replay 1 - 4 in a penalty shoot-out. In the next round they lost 1 - 2 (H) against Wealdstone.
In the F.A. Trophy they lost their opening, 3rd round, qualifying tie 0 - 1 (H) against Dorchester Town.

This season the bookies are, unsurprisingly, showing them as relegation contenders. Crusaders had a tough opening day fixture away to play-off hopefuls Hemel Hempstead Town. Although James Rusby netted a 30th minute equaliser for the visitors, Tudors ran out easy winners - 4 - 1.

Bookies match odds: Hungerford Town Win 23/10: the Draw 27/10: Slough Town Win 5/4

Prediction: With a run of five challenging games coming up, it will be important to get something from this game. The same as last season will do. Hungerford Town 1 - 2 Slough Town
