Slough Town v Weymouth, National League South, Arbour Park, Slough - Tuesday 13th August : Kick-Off 19h45

Visitors Weymouth arrive at Arbour Park on the back of a fine 4 - 1 home victory against much fancied Chelmsford City, when striker Josua McQuoid netted the division's first hat-trick of the season in just 15 minutes (including two penalties). Last midweek they were held at home by 'neighbours' Bath City 1 - 1 in front of 1,615 spectators. On the opening day of the season they defeated relegated Maidstone United 1 - 2 in Kent. They currently lie in 5th place in the table with seven points. Joining Josua McQuoid at the top of their scorers table on 3 goals is Ben Thomson who netted the goals in their opening two fixtures.

Seven of their squad have started in all three fixtures: Callum Ward ( a young keeper on loan from Bournemouth); Oliver Harfield; Jordan Ngalo; Jake McCarthy; Ben Thomson; Callum Brooks and Andreas Robinson (who played for Havant & Waterlooville last season).

Josua McQuoid played 12 seasons in the Football League, latterly with Luton Town and Stevenage, before playing for Torquay United then Aldershot, prior to joining Weymouth towards the end of last season. He is widely expected to take over the goal scoring role from hot-shot Brandon Goodship who netted 37 goals for the club in 2017/18 and 39 goals last season. Goodship having signed for League One Southend United.

Weymouth played six seasons in the Conference from 2004/2010 - three seasons at level five. Following their relegation they spent nine seasons in Southern Premier, losing in the 2017/18 promotion play-off semi-final - beaten 3 - 0 at Kings Lynn Town. Slough Town beating the Linnets at The Walks in the Final to gain promotion to National South.

Last season, Weymouth were transferred to the new Southern Premier South division, winning the championship and gaining promotion. Their league record being: P 42 Home W13 D6 L2 GF49 GA22 : Away W12 D5 L4 GF47 GA29 - Points 86.
Their best results being 5 - 0 victories at home against Dorchester Town and away at Chesham United. As noted above Brandon Goodship was their highest scorer with 39 goals. Their average home attendance being 1,005.

In last seasons F.A. Cup they were knocked out in the 1st Qualifying Round - D 1 - 1 (H), L 2 - 1 (A, replay) against Banbury United.
They reached the 2nd Round Proper in the F. A. Trophy before losing 1 - 3 at home in a replay, after drawing 2 - 2 away against Ramsbottom United. In the earlier rounds they played Needham Market W 1 - 0 (H, 1P); St. Albans City D 1 - 1 (H), W 0 - 2 (A, replay, 3Q); Street D 2 - 2 (H), W 0 - 1 (A, replay, 2Q) and Taunton Town W 0 - 3 (A, 1Q).

Slough Town played Weymouth in Southern Premier during four seasons from 2014/15 to 2017/18. Results being:-
2014/15: L 3 - 2 (A), W 3 - 0 (H): 2015/16: L 6 - 1 (A), D 0 - 0 (H): 2016/17: L 1 - 0 (A), W 3 - 0 (H): 2017/18: L 1 - 0 (A), W 3 - 0 (H).
The last match at Arbour Park, in November 2017, saw George Wells (24m), James Dobson (40m) and Josh Jackman (86m) score for Rebels.

Bookies Odds: Slough Town Win 17/10: the Draw 13/5: Weymouth 16/11

Prediction: On paper it looks tough for Rebels ... but Weymouth have failed to score in their last four visits with Rebels recording three 3 goal victories. So, tradition favours Slough Town!
