Holly's squad starts to take shape.

Over the last few weeks manager James Hollyoak has been busy securing signings for next season, as the Spartans look to go with a strong squad that can compete in both the Welsh National Division 1 and Reserves and Colts League.

Re-signing from last season's promotion squad are;

Cody Silvester
Cody is one of the younger members of the squad. His pace and goal threat have been a great asset over the past 2 seasons. I believe he still has more potential to unlock and look forward to witnessing it over the coming seasons.

Sam Jones
Sam signed for the club last season initially as a striker but soon found himself in CM. He went on to make this position his own. Very strong and a good eye for a pass Sam will be a great asset again this season.

Andy Bentley
Club captain Andy signs on for another season. A very experienced defender who is a great leader on the pitch. He will be a great role model for the younger players to look upto. I'm delighted to have him has part of the squad for next season.

Lee Silvester
Lee completes the second set of brothers to sign on after the Wildays. Lee is a quick and powerful forward who defenders hate facing. He was the clubs top scorer in our first season after forming. He will also again be a great asset as we look to compete on all fronts.

Liam Doran (Duz)
The clubs top scorer last season with 30+ goals despite missing games through injuries etc. Duz is another quick and powerful forward we have at our disposal this season. I'm confident he will continue to be a nightmare for the opposition defenders this season, as he has been in previous campaigns.

Nial Hurst
Nial signs on for his third season with the club. Nial is always available when called upon and did a great job for us the back end of last season. He has other commitments that mean he's not always available, but when we need Nial we know we can always rely on him.

Nath Eccleson
Nath re-signs after signing on just before the first game of the season last year. He started off hitting the back of the net in his first 3 appearances. Unfortunately he picked up a nasty injury which made his season very stop start. We hope Nath can get a good run going this year as he is a very good player and will only make us a stronger squad.

New players joining the Spartans this season;

Joe Mitchell
The youngest member of the squad so far. Joe played for mynydd isa u18s a couple of years ago. After taking a break he's ready to come back and give senior football a go. From what we have seen so far Joe will have no problems stepping up to senior football. He has good game awareness and is very skilful. We look forward to seeing Joe develop.

Paul Davies
Paul is a defender or midfielder with very good technical ability. He has also shown early on he is a very vocal player which will be a big help for the team. Paul will be a great asset to the squad this season.

Sam Genders
Sam, another local lad who played for Aston last year. We watched Sam a few times last season and he always impressed us. Sam has great work rate and energy swell as being very good on the ball. Another great addition to the squad.

Gareth Hughes
Yet another local player who was playing at Mold last season. Gaz has come in to claim a keeper shirt, an area we looked to strengthen as Mike Fleetwood filled in last season doing a great job but will be outfield again this season. Gaz has looked very confident so far, has been very vocal and commanded his area well. Gaz will be a top addition to the club.

Arkadiusz Mikula (Podolski)
Podolski has signed on in his first season for the club after coming along to pre season for a few weeks. He has already become a cult hero at the club after his first performance, as he mesmerised everyone with his close control and skill. Already earning himself the nickname Podolski. Arkadiusz is a great lad and we're very happy to have him onboard.

Mark Atkinson
Mark rejoins the club after finishing last season with FC Nomads. Mark was nominated for LB of the season in the welsh national league last season a real achievement. We've known Mark for a long time and know the quality his brings to the team. Its great to have him back in the squad as he has great experience of the league we're going into next season having previously won it with Nomads. We know Mark will play a big part for us this season.

That takes the squad up to 22 players as things start to really take shape for next season. We've just got a few more players to get in then we're all set for what we hope will be a very successful season.

Pre-season continues Saturday with what should be a good test against Queens Park
